STORY: In October 2012, Hoss was brought to the vet's office after being
hit by a car. He was treated and his owner was informed of the amount of
the treatment. He never returned to pick up
Hoss. Several letters were written to the owner with no
response. The vet staff fell madly in love with Hoss. Hoss was adopted for
a short period but was returned when he chased a cat under the house.
Sadly, his time is now up and without adoption or rescue, Hoss will soon be
euthanized. The vet staff have all taken in more than their share of dogs
and cats over the years and have no room for him. They are devastated
that Hoss might die!
PERSONALITY: Hoss is a "people-pleaser." He has been
taught several tricks by the vet staff. He loves people and female
dogs. His best friend was a female rescued coonhound. They would
play together for hours. His best friend was adopted and he is alone
again. After several months, he began exhibiting some male-dog
aggressiveness. (As a personal note, I have had no choice at times but to
put dogs in boarding for several months. I have had a case of a female
dog becoming female-dog aggressive and a male pit mix becoming male-dog
aggressive after being boarded for several months. I can't say for sure
in the case of Hoss, but these two dogs showed no signs of this aggressiveness
after leaving boarding. It can be a way to release boredom.)
Up-to-date on vaccinations. Hoss is heartworm positive but is on
heartworm prevention. If he has a chance of being adopted or rescued,
there is a good possibility he would be treated for heartworms before he
left. He is totally healed from being hit by the car.
Hoss is located in Cuthbert, GA
