This week, the European Union banned the sale and import of any cosmetics that contain ingredients tested on animals. While the EU has had similar policies in the past, this far-reaching ban aims to put pressure on other countries- like China - to follow suit. While many people frown on animal testing, a substitute has yet to be discovered for testing cosmetics for certain allergies and cancer. Critics of the ban are upset it was put into place before alternatives to some of these more complex tests were identified. In the meantime, experts say consumers will have to wait for newer products that contain ingredients which right now can only be tested for safety on animals. CLICK here for the whole story.
What is your opinion of animal testing?
