THE RISKS OF DIET DRINKS

Bad news for soda addicts- a study found that drinking just one single diet soft drink per day could raise your risk of heart attack and stroke. Over a 10-year period, study participants who drank diet sodas daily were 43% more likely to suffer a heart attack or stroke, while those who drank them occasionally (between one can per month and six per week) were at no greater risk of these conditions. Other studies have linked diet sodas to weight gain, high blood sugar, heart problems, cancer and diabetes.
SUGAR SHOCK

A group of researchers at the University of California- San Francisco have proposed that sugar should be regulated like alcohol and tobacco, since it’s as toxic a substance and poses serious health risks. Numerous research studies have linked sugar consumption to a variety of diseases and health conditions, including liver toxicity, cancer, heart disease and diabetes. Sugar affects the body similarly to the way alcohol does- by altering the metabolism, raising blood pressure, throwing off hormone balance and damaging the liver. Also similar to drugs and alcohol, sugar affects the brain in a way that causes cravings, addiction and withdrawal. Sugar is also at least partially to blame for the growing obesity problem in America. Currently, the average U.S. adult eats 22 teaspoons of sugar per day, while teenagers eat 34 teaspoons.

VERGARA NAMED THIS YEAR'S MOST DESIRABLE WOMAN!

Sofia Vergara certainly oozes sex appeal, so it's no shock to find out she's been voted the Most Desirable Woman of 2012. The Modern Family star topped AskMen.com's list of 99 women, followed by Sports Illustrated model Kate Upton in second, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo's Rooney Mara in third, Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr in fourth and Nicki Minaj in fifth. Interestingly, A-listers like Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston didn't even make it on the list this year. Jolie has actually been in the top ten every year from 2001-2011.

HOT OR KNOT?

Well, at least it’s an improvement over the trucker hat. The latest guy grooming trend sweeping cities across the country (well, from New York to Hollywood at least) is the bun. That’s right, the hairstyle that was once reserved for ballerinas and librarians is now the look of choice for many long-haired dudes. The New York Times noted the recent popularity of the style in hip Brooklyn neighborhoods, and several celebs have been known to rock the man-bun, including actor Orlando Bloom and quarterback Tom Brady. Before you judge, consider that both of those guys have Victoria’s Secret model wives.
What do you think of the man bun? Guys, would you rock it? Ladies, do you like this look?

Got this from Womans World Magazine - YUMMY!!!

SPRINGSTEEN FANS TRAPPED IN TICKETMASTER TRAFFIC JAM

A handful of Bruce Springsteen spring tour dates went on sale Friday and the flood of fans hoping to score tickets to one or more of his New Jersey and/or New York area shows were left out in the cold due to hiccups on the Ticketmaster website. The snafu led the Boss himself to post the following Ticketmaster message on his website: “We have been experiencing highly abnormal traffic patterns on our site this morning that have impacted the fan buying experience for some customers. We are investigating the source of the problem and are working to resolve it as quickly as possible, but tickets are selling so please stay patient. We will update fans as we know more.” Snubbed fans have another option: tickets for Springsteen shows are already selling on StubHub.
