Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o was interviewed by Katie Couric yesterday regarding the Internet hoax that had friends and reporters believing his girlfriend died of leukemia, when in fact, she never existed. Manti admitted he continued to lie after the fact because he was embarrassed. This has led many people to caution Internet daters to extensively research anyone they meet online, though in Manti’s case, he just needs to grow up a little—I haven’t made up girlfriend since I was 14.
