JANET JACKSON MARRIED

Entertainment Tonight reports that Janet Jackson has been secretly married for months. Jackson, 46, got engaged to Qatari billionaire Wissam Al Mana, 37, back in December. Reports claimed they recently tied the knot in a big wedding, but the couple denied that, while confirming they are already hitched. "The rumors regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true. Last year we were married in a quiet, private and beautiful ceremony," the couple told ET in a statement on Monday. "Our wedding gifts to one another were contributions to our respective favorite children's charities. We would appreciate that our privacy is respected and that we are allowed this time for celebration and joy." This is the third marriage for Jackson. She was previously married to James DeBarge and Rene Elizondo.

THE ONION APOLOGIZES FOR OFFENDING TWEET

The satirical news site The Onion is in hot water over a tweet they sent out Sunday about 9-year-old Oscar nominee Quvenzhané [Qua-VEN-zha-ney] Wallis. At one point during the evening, a message on The Onion’s official Twitter account read, “Everyone else seems afraid to say it, but that Quvenzhané Wallis is kind of a ***t, right?” Well, needless to say it incited an uproar on Twitter, with many feeling that it was inappropriate. The Onion deleted the offending message and yesterday issued a formal apology to the actress. “On behalf of The Onion, I offer my personal apology to Quvenzhané Wallis and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for the tweet that was circulated last night during the Oscars. It was crude and offensive — not to mention inconsistent with The Onion’s commitment to parody and satire, however biting,” read a statement from The Onion’s CEO Steve Hannah. “No person should be subjected to such a senseless, humorless comment masquerading as satire.”

After winning her Best Actress award, she told the press she had taken a shot right before entering the room, and when asked what she was thinking as she fell up the stairs her response was, “a bad word that starts with F.” As for what caused the slip, she explained, "Look at my dress! I tried to walk upstairs in this dress. That's what happened. I think I stepped on the fabric and they waxed the stairs." She also jokingly flipped off the room.

IRAN NOT HAPPY WITH ARGO WIN

Not everyone was happy that Argo took home Best Picture at the Oscars Sunday night. Iran’s state TV dismissed the film as an “advertisement for the CIA” and Iranians who took part in the 1979 Islamic revolution were not happy with their portrayal in the film. Tehran City Council member Masoomeh Ebtekar, who was one of the students who occupied the US Embassy back in 79, says the film exaggerates the violence among those who stormed the compound. He said director Ben Affleck, “goes and shows scenes of a very violent and angry mob throughout the film,” adding that “it is never mentioned that these are a group of students.” The moderate Hamshahri newspaper suggested the film “targeted the culture and civilization of Iran” but still believes it’s worthwhile for citizens to see the movie. Argo isn’t currently playing in any Iranian theaters, but bootleg DVDs are selling in downtown Tehran for less than a dollar.

CANADIANS HAPPY TO GET ARGO RECOGNITION

Meanwhile, the Canadians are very happy about Argo’s win Sunday night, especially because Ben Affleck thanked them for their contribution to the rescue of the hostages in Iran. Before the awards, former Canadian ambassador Ken Taylor said he had felt the movie didn’t accurately portray the role Canada had in the rescue, but he is now happy to have the recognition. “Finally, he mentioned Canada,” said Taylor. “Under the circumstances, I think that was fine. It certainly acknowledged Canada.”

Q-What actor, who currently stars on NBC’s Deception, played Ken Taylor in Argo? Victor Garber

PRODUCER OF OSCAR-WINNING SHORT EJECTED FROM SHOW

One of the producers of last night’s Academy Award-winning Best Animated Short Paperman was briefly kicked out of the Oscars ceremony Sunday night. Kristina Reed was removed by security guards after she was caught throwing paper airplanes after the film’s win. The planes were adorned with kisses, like the ones featured in the film. Apparently Oscar attendees didn’t even notice, but security wasn’t happy with her and escorted her out. She was let back in 10 minutes later after receiving a warning. Paperman is about a young businessman working in 1940s New York City who uses paper airplanes to get the attention of a girl.

Kristen Stewart hobbled to the Oscars on crutches Sunday and now we know why. According to the Twilight star’s makeup artist, Kristen “cut the ball of her foot, quite severely, on glass two days ago.” Her limping didn’t go unnoticed on Twitter, with Community star Joel McHale tweeting, “Kristen Stewart is limping because she sprained her ankle from being excessively disinterested.”

KIM SAYS SHE ALWAYS SHOULD HAVE BEEN WITH KANYE

Kim Kardashian is opening up about her relationship with Kanye West, explaining to Cosmopolitan how their romance evolved from a strong friendship. “Sometimes you’re just not ready. A person could have it all, and you’re not ready for it all. But this is where I probably always should have been,” she said. “[Marriage] is something I know that we both want in our future, but I don’t have this sense of urgency about it. I have this best friend who understands me and helps me through all my tough experiences, and vice versa, you know? It just feels like this is it for me.” In fact, after her disastrous marriage to Kris Humphries, Kim will never rush into marriage again. As for why she thought her union with Kris would work, she told the mag, “I saw fast marriages like Khloe and Lamar’s and that was what seemed to work.” But now she says, “I say give it a good six months before you commit. Feelings change, even if it seems so lustful.”

HONEY BOO BOO A HIT OVERSEAS

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’s popularity is not limited to America. According to the New York Post, 7-year-old Alana Thompson and her family are already a hit in Eastern Europe and their TLC show will soon be airing in Australia, the Netherlands, Italy and Latin America. But there is one major problem. Producers are having a tough time figuring out how to subtitle a show that already has to provide English subtitles to American audiences. In some cases they’re dubbing the voices, but the VP of Discovery explains, “We’re developing a [glossary] and trying to explain a word in English that the audience understands but which has a different meaning. We’re going to come up with our own vocabulary so people can understand the words the family uses that aren’t typical.”

LINDSAY OWES MORE TAX MONEY/WANTS CRIMINAL CASE DISMISSED

Lindsay Lohan’s lawyer yesterday filed paperwork to get her lying-to-the cops criminal case dismissed because they claim she was never read her Miranda rights. Of course, the cops in California didn’t need to Mirandize Lindsay because they are allowed to talk to people who are involved in a car accident without reading them their rights. The problem for Lindsay is that she lied to the officers during that questioning, telling them she wasn’t driving the car that crashed. Meanwhile, Lindsay is dealing with even more tax trouble. Lindsay owed the IRS over $93K for 2009 and $140K for 2010, and now TMZ reports she also owes the state of California over $56K for 2011. Lindsay has already paid off 2009 thanks to a $100,000 check from Charlie Sheen, but she still hasn’t settled for the other two years. And speaking of Charlie, EW.com reports that Lindsay will guest star on an upcoming episode of Charlie’s FX comedy Anger Management.

NAPOLEON DYNAMITE STAR THREATENED TO SUE TWIN FOR IMPERSONATING HIM

Napoleon Dynamite’s Efren Ramirez (Pedro) reportedly threatened to sue his twin brother for $10 million for impersonating him without permission. TMZ reports that back in 2008, Efren sent a cease-and-desist letter to his twin Carlos Ramirez, warning him to stop making appearances as “Efren.” Carlos tells TMZ that he started impersonating Efren at his brother’s request because he was “too busy,” but then began doing it on his own. Said Carlos, “I did attend an event without his knowledge as I was being immature and wanted to get back at him for a personal matter.” Carlos says things got so bad between the brothers that they have stopped talking. When asked about the situation, a rep for Efren would only say, “Efren prefers to keep what’s between he and Carlos between he and Carlos.”

Q-What actor played the title role in Napoleon Dynamite? Jon Heder

SNOOKI SELLS CAR ON EBAY

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi has sold her 2011 Cadillac Escalade on eBay for a whopping $77,510. In the listing for the vehicle, it was described as “the actual car that she has driven in many of her television appearances.” It has been customized to Snooki’s taste, featuring “custom wheels and ambient lighting” and “has been autographed across the hood by Nicole.” Sounds classy.

TV TIDBITS

ABC is developing a possible spinoff for Once Upon A Time. The show would be centered around The Mad Hatter, although Sebastian Stan, who plays the Hatter on Once, could not commit to the new show so producers are looking to recast the role.

Lost’s Jorge Garcia (Hurley) has landed a role on the CBS pilot The Ordained, about Tom (Charlie Cox), the son of a Kennedy-esque family, who leaves the priesthood and becomes a lawyer to help prevent his politician sister from being assassinated. Garcia will play Carlos, an investigator at the law firm who is Tom’s only friend.

John Stamos will star in the NBC drama pilot I Am Victor, based on author Jo Nesbo’s upcoming book. Stamos will star as the most sought after divorce attorney in L.A., who unapologetically says what most people would dare not say.
