MINDY McCREADY DEAD OF APPARENT SUICIDE

Mindy McCready was found dead Sunday of an apparent suicide. She was 37.   The troubled country singer’s two children were removed from her home by a judge on February 6th and she was subsequently committed to a treatment facility for mental health and alcohol evaluation. She had reportedly been in bad shape ever since her boyfriend David Wilson, father of her youngest child, committed suicide on January 13th. He died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. McCready unsuccessfully attempted suicide two other times, in 2005 and 2008.

NIKE AD FEATURING PISTORIUS PULLED

A Nike ad featuring Olympian Oscar Pistorius with the tag line “I am the bullet in the chamber” was pulled from his website following his arrest Thursday for the fatal shooting of his girlfriend, model Reeva Steenkamp. Nike, one of Pistorius’ five major sponsors, refused to comment about Thursday’s arrest, but did say that they, “extend our condolences to everyone affected by this." Pistorius, the first double amputee to compete in the Olympics, has been charged with murder and is in police custody. He is expected to appear in court today.

 

J.LO DENIES ADOPTION WAR BETWEEN MOM AND BEAU

Jennifer Lopez is denying a National Enquirer story that claims she and boyfriend Casper Smart want to adopt a baby but her mother disapproves. According to the tab, Casper, 25, is anxious to adopt a child from Mexico with the 43-year-old J.Lo. While the former American Idol judge hasn’t agreed yet, her mother Guadalupe is vehemently opposed to the idea. “Guadalupe is livid,” claimed a source. “She doesn’t approve of Casper and is afraid his bond with Jennifer would be strengthened if they adopted a kid together.” But a rep for J.Lo says the story is completely “inaccurate.”
