
Django Unchained star Christoph Waltz will host the February 16th edition of Saturday Night Live, with musical guest Alabama Shakes.
CBS has officially announced that How I Met Your Mother has been renewed for a ninth and final season. The entire cast - Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan – will return, and audiences will no doubt finally get to meet the elusive mother.
ABC has given the go-ahead for a new primetime game show, Bet On Your Baby, hosted by actress/comedian Melissa Peterman (Reba). The show will feature five families with toddlers, with each family betting on what their baby will do during a challenge. At the end, the families will compete for a chance to win $50,000 towards a college fund for the kid.
MTV has announced Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life, a docu-series about the professional and personal life of pop star Ke$ha, will premiere in April. The series was shot over two years and follows the singer as she records a new album and travels the globe.
Roseanne Barr will guest star on one of the remaining episodes of The Office. She'll play Carla Fern, a talent agent who helps Andy (Ed Helms) pursue his showbiz dreams.
Warner Bros. has purchased the rights to the James Renner novel The Man from Primrose Lane as a starring vehicle for Bradley Cooper. Cooper will play true crime writer David Neff, who begins investigating the murder mystery of a recluse known as “the man with a thousand mittens.”
Warner Bros. has officially given the green light for a big screen version of the HBO series Entourage. Deals are currently being made with the show’s stars, Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara and Jeremy Piven. No word on when filming will begin.
Fox is pushing back the release of the new Sandra Bullock/Melissa McCarthy buddy comedy The Heat. The film was due to hit theaters April 5th, but will now come out June 28th to take advantage of the lucrative fourth of July holiday. The studio reportedly wanted to put some distance between The Heat and McCarthy’s other new film Identity Thief, which hits theaters February 8th.
Bond girl Eva Green will star in Robert Rodriguez’s flick Sin City; A Dame To Kill For. She’ll play the lead role of Ava Lord. The story revolves around a photographer, played by Josh Brolin, who is reunited with a woman (Green) who left him years earlier for a wealthy man, only to find himself set up for the man’s murder.
