WRITER DOCUMENTS THE NIGHTMARE THAT IS LINDSAY

We all pretty much know that Lindsay Lohan is a horror to work with, but now a writer who witnessed the trainwreck firsthand is spilling the beans about just how bad it actually gets. New York Times writer Stephen Rodrick was allowed to chronicle the filming of Lindsay’s movie The Canyons from start to finish and he says she was a disaster who was often drunk on the set. He writes that at one point she was fired after missing two days of work, only to show up at the director’s hotel room in tears, begging for her job back. She was reportedly in the hall 90 minutes before she finally left.  And when she was hired back, things turned from bad to worse, with Lindsay constantly criticizing her co-stars, as well as producers. Rodrick also witnessed Lindsay drinking before filming a simulated four-way sex scene with real-life porn stars. When it was over, even though she was offered a driver, she got into her Porsche and drove herself home. Rodrick says producers “all hoped they would still have a lead actress in the morning.”

LINDSAY TRIED TO STEAL TAYLOR BRACELET

Lindsay Lohan is quite a crafty thief. Radaronline  reports that Lindsay has been accused of attempting to steal a bracelet  that once belonged to Elizabeth Taylor. Taylor had given the bracelet to  her longtime nurse, who Lindsay had become friends with while filming  the Lifetime movie Liz & Dick. According to the site, the  nurse showed Lindsay the bracelet, and she became enamored with it. Then  it just happened to disappear from the nurse’s home on a day Lindsay  was visiting. The nurse gave Lindsay the benefit of the doubt, and  believed she had just forgotten to take it off after trying it on. But  when she wanted it returned, Lindsay had the gall to text her,  “Elizabeth would be very upset with how you are behaving.” Sources say  Lindsay had planned to take the bracelet to a jeweler and have a replica  made, which she would then give back to the nurse. But when the nurse  threatened to get the cops involved, “one of Lindsay’s minions returned  the bracelet.”

LINCOLN LEADS OSCAR PACK

Steven Spielberg’s epic Lincoln leads the list of nominees for the 85^th Annual Academy Awards, nabbing 12 nods, including Best Picture, Best Director (Spielberg), Best Actor (Daniel Day-Lewis), Best Supporting Actress (Sally Field) and Best Supporting Actor (Tommy Lee Jones). Coming in close behind is Life of Pi, with 11 nominations. Competing against both films for Best Picture are Silver Linings Playbook, Argo, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Django Unchained. Amour and Les Misérables. The biggest snubs of the day came in the Best Director category. Although they were considered locks, both Ben Affleck and Kathryn Bigelow failed to get recognized, despite both of their films, Argo and Zero Dark Thirty, nabbing Best Picture nominations. (Les Misérables director Tom Hooper was also snubbed in the category, although he wasn’t considered as much of a shoe-in.) Other interesting Oscar tidbits: all five nominees in the Best Supporting Actor category (Jones, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Christoph Waltz, Alan Arkin and Robert DeNiro) are past Oscar winners. Amour’s Emmanuelle Riva, who is 85, is the oldest Best Actress nominee ever, while Beasts of the Southern Wild’s Quvenzhané [Qua-VEN-zha-ne] Wallis is the youngest Best Actress Oscar nominee ever at 9 (she was six when she shot the film). Leonardo DiCaprio, who received a Golden Globe nod for Django Unchained, failed to get a nomination.  This year’s Oscar host, Seth MacFarlane received a nod for Best Original Song for his Ted tune “Everybody Needs A Best Friend.” And Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises didn’t get any nominations, not even in technical categories.

BRITNEY QUITS X FACTOR BEFORE THEY CAN FIRE HER

Rumors began surfacing earlier this month that Britney Spears would likely be fired from X Factor, but before they could give her the heave-ho she quit. According to TMZ, Britney told producers she loves the show but she wants to leave and focus on her music career. She is said to be in the studio recording her eighth album, and plans to go out on tour once it is completed. Of course, Brit’s quitting just made it easier for execs, who had already decided she wasn’t coming back for season two. “The producers hadn’t planned for Britney to return this year,” a source told EW.com. “She did her best and they had fun last year, but it’s no surprise to anyone that they were all going to be parting company. It wasn’t even really a conversation.”

BIEBER ACCUSED OF BEATING UP BODYGUARD

Justin Bieber is being sued by a former bodyguard who claims the pop star beat him up after a disagreement. Moshe Benabou, an ex-member of the Israeli army who worked for Justin from March 2011 to October 2012, claims the 5 foot, 7 inch Bieber berated him and punched him in the chest numerous times during a fight over how to handle a member of the pop star’s entourage. He is seeking unspecified damages for assault and battery, as well as more than $420,000 in unpaid overtime. Bieber’s camp calls Moshe a “disgruntled employee looking for money,” and says the accusations are “absurd.”

FOX QUITS TWITTER

Megan Fox has quit Twitter after only two weeks. “Some of you may, or may not have noticed by now that my Twitter account has been shut down… I thought that 2013 might be the year that I finally blossomed into a social networking butterfly… but as it turns out I still hate it,” she wrote on her Facebook page. “Love you guys but I will just never be. Facebook is as much as I can handle. #I’m Sorry.”

ELTON JOHN A DAD AGAIN?

The New York Post reported yesterday that Grammy winner Sir Elton John and husband David Furnish welcomed a second baby via surrogate. According to the paper, the  couple used the same surrogate mother who gave birth to their son Zachary, on Christmas Day, 2010. She is reportedly the same woman who was the surrogate for Camille Grammer’s two kids.Information on the sex or name of the child were not released,  but that could be because there's no baby. A rep for the singer told Gossip Cop that reports the couple added to their family are "false."

In a recent episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Brandi Glanville confronted a waitress who slept with Brandi’s ex Eddie Cibrian while she was married to him, and now that waitress says that wasn’t the only time Eddie cheated. Scheana Marie, 27, tells Radaronline Eddie reached out to her not long after he split from Brandi, when he was already dating his current wife LeAnn Rimes.  “I believed he was separated so I was happy to go out with him again,” Scheana tells Radaronline. “But shortly into trying to hang out with him I find out about LeAnn and I felt like such an idiot.”  Schaena then confronted Eddie, who admitted his cheating via a text. “He was like, ‘I’m so sorry I lied to you,’” said Scheana, who hasn’t spoken to him since.  “I have no interest in talking to him again.”

KATIE GOES TO COURT

Katie Holmes traveled all the way to Queens, NY to support a good friend. According to the New York Post, the Dawson’s Creek star made a surprise appearance at Queens Supreme Court Wednesday, where her friend, prosecutor Leigh Bishop, was giving opening statements in the case of a man accused of shaking his two-month-old daughter to death back in 2007.   According to the paper, Katie didn’t stick around for the entire trial, and left after a short time.

HOUGH REVELATION ANGERS BALLAS FAMILY

Julianne Hough recently told a magazine she was mentally and physically abused when she was a teen studying dance in London and the revelation has reportedly angered Dancing with the Stars’ Mark Ballas and his family. Hough stayed with Mark’s dad Corky and ex-wife Shirley while she was studying overseas and a source tells Star magazine they “are livid with Julianne over suggestions that she was abused in the UK under their care.”  The insiders say Corky helped turn Julianne “into a world-class dancer, and now he feels like he has been ambushed.” Other sources say Julianne felt Corky’s encouragement was abusive, which caused her to leave London early. “At the end of their time in London they were barely speaking,” said the source. “One thing’s for sure – she really opened a can of worms.”

SHEEN PAYS FOR PAPARAZZO’S FUNERAL

Say what you will about Charlie Sheen and his bad behavior, but he certainly is a generous guy. First he gave Lindsay Lohan $100,000 to pay off her tax bill, and then he sent a $75,000 check to help a little girl fight cancer. And now, TMZ reports the Anger Management star has cut a check for $12,000 to the family of 29-year-old Chris Guerra, the paparazzo who died earlier this month while trying to snap a photo of what he thought was Justin Bieber.  Charlie is reportedly friends with a former photographer who was Chris’ buddy, and when Charlie  heard Chris’ family was trying to raise money for funeral costs, he broke out his checkbook.  “A tragic incident like this erases the line between the photographer and the subject. It's an unforgiving moment that begs us all to be human and work as one to prevent this in the future,” said Charlie in a statement to TMZ. “As parents, we are all not supposed to bury our children. My deepest condolences to the families involved."

ALLEN WELCOMES SECOND GIRL

Lily Allen is a mom again. The singer and husband Sam Cooper welcomed their second daughter, Marnie Rose Cooper, in London earlier this month. On Thursday, Allen acknowledged the happy news on Twitter writing, “Quite overwhelmed by all the well wishing going on. THANKYOU everybody xxx.” The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Ethel Mary, in November, 2011.

GAME OF THRONES ACTOR DIAGNOSED WITH TERMINAL CANCER

British actor Wilko Johnson, who played Ilyn Payne on the first two seasons of HBO’s Game of Thrones, has been diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer.  A statement from the 65-year-old’s rep says he has “chosen not to receive any chemotherapy.” Added the rep, “He is currently in good spirits, is not yet suffering any physical effects and can expect to enjoy at least another few months of reasonable health and activity." In addition to Thrones, Johnson is the guitarist and songwriter for the English group Dr. Feelgood.
