PAPARAZZO COVERING BIEBER KILLED

A paparazzo covering Justin Bieber was killed Tuesday while trying to take a picture of the singer’s car.  TMZ identified the photographer as 29-year-old Chris Guerra, who was following Justin all day (or so he thought).  Chris was struck and killed by another driver as he was crossing the street to take a picture of Justin’s Ferrari, which had been pulled over by police. Justin was not in the car at the time, but later released a statement to the press. “While I was not present nor directly involved with this tragic accident, my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim,” said Justin. “Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders, and the photographers themselves.” Meanwhile, TMZ reports that less than an hour before his death, Chris called his agency to say he was following a big story because he believed he saw Justin smoking weed while driving. Justin seems particularly upset that TMZ is trying to make the story more salacious. "It's really sad that people are trying to push a story without the facts so soon after this tragic accident,” read a statement from the singer’s rep. “Justin was not present or involved in this incident and the focus should remain on honoring the memory of the victim."

MILEY COMMENTS ABOUT PAPARAZZO DEATH

Miley Cyrus was quick to offer an opinion about the death of paparazzo Chris Guerra, who died while chasing what he thought was Justin Bieber. “Hope this paparazzi/JB accident brings on some changes in ’13 Paparazzi are dangerous! Wasn’t Princess Di enough of a wake up call?!” Cyrus asked on Twitter. “It is unfair for anyone to put this on to Justin’s conscious (sic) as well! This was bound to happen!”  Your mom teaches u when your (sic) a child not to play in the street! The chaos that comes with the paparazzi acting like fools makes it impossible for anyone to make safe choices.”

KIM’S PREGNANCY BOOSTS SALES OF SEX TAPE

Kim Kardashian’s pregnancy is already increasing business – for the adult entertainment industry. TMZ reports that ever since news hit that Kim is expecting Kanye West’s baby, video-on-demand sales of her sex tape, Kim K. Superstar, have increased 80%. And it appears just being with Kanye is good for Kim’s business. The site says sales of the tape have been steadily increasing since Kim and Kanye began dating.  [See Spotlight On for more.]

KIM WILL LIKELY BE MARRIED TO KRIS WHEN SHE GIVES BIRTH

Meanwhile, Radaronline claims there’s a good chance Kim Kardashian could still be married to Kris Humphries when she gives birth.  The site suggests that unless Kim complies with Kris’ demand to admit their marriage was a fraud the case will go to court, which could last a while.  Kim and Kris’ divorce lawyers are due in court February 15^th to set a date for trial, and the earliest date is expected to be sometime in June to accommodate Kris’ basketball schedule. Kim is reportedly due to give birth sometime in June. Said a source, “Kris isn’t trying to drag this out, but he wants to be vindicated in court. Kris will see this through to the end.”

VERGARA’S BOYFRIEND KICKED OUT OF CLUB ON NYE

Sofia Vergara’s 2013 started off with some drama. According to the New York Post, the Modern Family star’s fiancé Nick Loeb was kicked out of a Miami nightclub not long after they got into a “heated argument.” According to the paper,  Nick was already upset that the party was being hosted by club owner Chris Paciello, who dated Sofia in the 90s.  Then Nick got into a spat with folks at the VIP table next to them and all hell broke loose. “In the early hours, Nick and Sofia were arguing before he got into a dispute with somebody at a neighboring table. Some pushing and shoving started,” said a source. “Sofia stepped in to try to calm the situation, but somehow she ended up getting pushed and shoved also.” In the melee, Sofia’s dress got ripped, exposing her breasts to clubgoers.  Nick was eventually thrown out of the club, but apparently he and Sofia settled their differences, because they went home together.

Scarlett Johansson already has one failed marriage behind her and it doesn’t sound like she’s too keen to walk down the aisle again. “It's really not important to me," Johansson, who divorced Ryan Reynolds in 2010,  told ELLE UK of marriage. "The only time I ever think about it is when people ask me, 'Would I get married again?' I'm not having kids any time soon. I'm in a nice relationship, I'm working a lot and, like I said, it's not important to me." But that doesn’t mean she has anything against marriage. Explained the 28-year-old , "I got married when I was young and it was incredibly romantic and I liked being married, actually. But it is different. It's hard to put into words. To me being in a functioning relationship doesn't mean you have to be married."

KATIE DENIES DATING JAKE

Reps for Katie Holmes have shot down a report that suggested she was secretly dating Jake Gyllenhaal. Grazia magazine claims the two single stars have gone out on several romantic dinners in the last few weeks, and said they were actually set up by Katie’s former Dawson’s Creek co-star Joshua Jackson. But a rep for Katie tells Gossip Cop the story is “not at all true,” with a source close to Jake also saying the story is a lie.

HOUGH WAS A VICTIM OF ABUSE

Julianne Hough has revealed that she was a victim of mental and physical abuse. Hough spent her childhood in London trying to become a dancer, and admits it was a very difficult time for her. “I was 10 years old looking like I was 28, being a very sensual dancer. I was a tormented little kid who had to put on this sexy façade because that was my job and my life. But my heart was the same, and I was this innocent little girl. I wanted so much love,” the Rock of Ages star tells Cosmopolitan. “While I was in London, I was abused, mentally, physically, everything.” She would not reveal the identity of her abuser, explaining, “I’m a very forgiving person, and I don’t want to hurt anybody. What’s past is past.”

KRIS ALLEN IN CAR WRECK/GOING TO BE A DAD

American Idol champ Kris Allen was injured in a car crash Tuesday. Kris’ mom broke the news by tweeting a pic of her son with the caption, “From Kris: He is in a lot of pain, arm broke, may not play guitar for a while. Prayers welcome please #headoncollision.” Later Kris confirmed the accident, but also shared some happier news – he’s going to be a dad. “Yes, I got in a really bad wreck tonight and yes I'm having a lil baby,” he tweeted, and then thanked, “@ford for equipping me with a car that kept my whole family @katyallen @ZorroPup and the little one we have on the way safe.”

CROWE RESPONDS TO LAMBERT’S LES MIZ CRITICISM

Russell Crowe has responded to Adam Lambert’s criticism of the film Les Miserables. Over the weekend, the American Idol runner-up tweeted that he found the movie “visually impressive,” but said “the score suffered massively with great actors PRETENDING to be singers.” Lambert also added, “I do think it was cool they were singing live- but with that cast, they should have studio recorded and sweetened the vocals.” Well, Crowe, who plays Javert in the film, didn’t totally disagree with Lambert. When a fan asked the Oscar winner if he had heard about Lambert’s comments, Crowe replied, “I don't disagree with Adam, sure it could have been sweetened, (director Tom) Hooper wanted it raw and real, that's how it is.”

LAWRENCE CALLS ACTING ‘STUPID’

The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence continues to be one of the most normal celebrities out there. In an interview with Vanity Fair she admits that being an actress isn’t all that tough. “Not to sound rude, but [acting] is stupid,” says Lawrence. “Everybody’s like, ‘How can you remain with a level head?’ And I’m like, ‘Why would I ever get cocky? I’m not saving anybody’s life. There are doctors who save lives and firemen who run into burning buildings. I’m making movies. It’s stupid.”

MUELLER REACHES SETTLEMENT WITH REHAB

Brooke Mueller has reportedly reached a settlement with The Canyons rehab facility.  Brooke sued the rehab center after someone leaked her private information, including the nature of her addiction, to the press. According to TMZ, the two sides have since reached a settlement, and Brooke will get about $250,000 from the clinic.
