ALLEGED LAWSUIT BY K-FED’S BROTHER A HOAX

So much for The National Enquirer article about Kevin Federline’s brother claiming he was the father of Britney Spears’ oldest son Sean Preston. The Smoking Gun reports that the lawsuit allegedly filed by Christopher Federline, in which he claims Brit stole from him and then threatened to tell the world he was Sean Preston’s dad, is a fake. The document was actually filed by a convicted felon named Jonathan Lee Riches, who was recently arrested on federal probation violation charges. And this isn’t the 35-year-old’s first fake lawsuit.  He reportedly filed “hundreds” of fake suits from prison, including one in which he claimed to be Selena Gomez’s father and sued Justin Bieber, accusing him of stealing his credit card to pay for a “penis enlargement.”  And on December 16^th, just two days after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, Riches drove to Connecticut and pretended to be the uncle of shooter Adam Lanza and told journalists Adam had been taking an anti-psychotic drug prescribed for schizophrenia.

BRAD TO PAY BIG BUCKS TO PROTECT ANGIE

Brad Pitt wants to protect his fiancée Angelina Jolie’s image. According to The National Enquirer, the Ocean’s Eleven star is willing to shell out $10 million to make sure racy photos and a rumored sex tape never see the light of day.  A source tells the tab Brad hired investigators to find any incriminating evidence of Angie’s wild past, including a sex tape that was allegedly shot during a “drug-fueled session” in 1999.  “Brad’s out to protect the new image that Angelina has tried hard to build – A-list actress, doting mother of six and UN human-rights crusader,” claimed the source. “He’s willing to spend $10 million if he has to. When it comes to Angie and the kids, money is no object.”

CRUISE GOES DANCING WITH NEW GAL?

Tom Cruise is reportedly ready to move on from Katie Holmes. According to In Touch magazine, the actor recently went on a date with 26-year-old Cynthia Jorge, who earlier this month slipped him her card when he was dining at Beauty & Essex, the Manhattan restaurant where she works.  The mag reports that last week Tom and Cynthia enjoyed a night of dancing at the hotspot Le Baron. “It was straight out of Dirty Dancing,” said a witness. “Tom seemed to be in his own world, completely smitten.”  But sources tell the New York Post the pair is “just friends” and Cynthia was simply “showing Tom some of the city’s hotspots.” Gossip Cop also shoots down rumors the pair is dating, saying Tom danced with several women at Le Baron that night.

BRITNEY GETTING FIRED FROM X FACTOR

Looks like Simon Cowell will be looking for two new X Factor judges next season. L.A. Reid has already announced he won’t return for season three, and now Us Weekly claims Britney Spears won’t be asked back for another year. “Britney will get the boot,” an insider tells the mag. “Producers wanted her for the long haul, but it isn’t working.”  Britney was paid $15 million for her first season, but execs don’t think she earned her keep. “They paid all that money for her to say, ‘amazing’ and offer ‘half-claps,’” claimed an insider, who adds that Simon is the one who really wants to see her go. “He wanted crazy Britney, but got boring Britney.”

CHARGES DROPPED AGAINST SWIFT TRESPASSER

The man who was arrested earlier this month for trespassing on Taylor Swift’s Nashville property won’t face charges. TMZ reports that prosecutors declined to press criminal charges against 24-year-old Jacob Kulke who hopped a fence near Taylor’s home. He told them he was Taylor’s boyfriend and was at the house to celebrate her birthday. Kulke’s attorney told TMZ no charges were filed because Swift’s property did not have a “No Trespassing” sign on it. But TMZ reports that in reality Swift’s family did not want to pursue the matter.

INVESTIGATOR CLAIMS WHITNEY WAS MURDERED

Ten months after Whitney Houston’s death of what the coroner says was an accidental drowning, a Hollywood detective claims to have evidence the R&B singer was actually murdered.  Paul Huebl tells The National Enquirer the Bodyguard star was attacked by two men who were sent to collect $1.5 million she owed to dangerous drug dealers. He adds that even though the coroner claimed there was no foul play involved, Whitney’s body showed signs that she was battling for her life. “Whitney’s body shows classic defense wounds,” he said, which suggest there was a struggle before she died. He says in the days leading up to her death, two mystery men were seen trying to blend in with the singer’s entourage.  He claims they were the men who slipped into her room and killed her. Huebl says he got his info from a network of informants and that he plans to turn his evidence over to the FBI.

MATT LAUER MISERABLE

People just don’t seem to like Matt Lauer anymore. According to TMZ, Matt is “freaked out” because a lot of people have been confronting him on the streets of New York, upset over his part in Ann Curry’s Today show firing.  Matt is said to be “miserable” over what he believes are unfair tirades. People are constantly coming up to him screaming things like “you’re a bad guy,” and “you got Ann fired. Does that make you happy?”  Said a network source, “It’s driving him crazy. He’s so unhappy.” But it doesn’t look like Matt is going anywhere. Not only is he still under contract with Today, NBC honchos don’t believe they have anyone who could replace him.

LETTERMAN TALKS LENO RIVALRY

David Letterman opens up about his friendship and feud with rival talk show host Jay Leno on the January 6^th episode of Oprah’s The Next Chapter. Letterman denied the pair’s rivalry began when Letterman was passed over for the Tonight Show gig in favor of Leno. “Jay and I are friends. We were always friends before all of this happened," Letterman told Oprah Winfrey. "He has a way...he's an unusual fellow. I've never met anyone quite like Jay. And I will say—and I'm happy to say—that I think he is the funniest guy I've ever known. Just flat out, if you go to see him do his nightclub act, just the funniest, the smartest, a wonderful observationist and very appealing as a comic." Dave then continued, “Therefore, the fact that he is also maybe the most insecure person I have ever known...I could never reconcile that."

GAME OF THRONES TOPS MOST PIRATED TV SHOW LIST

Folks will do anything to catch an episode of Game of Thrones. According to a study by TorrentFreak, the HBO drama is the most pirated show of 2012, with one episode illegally downloaded 4.28 million times in the first week after airing. Coming in at number two is Showtime’s Dexter, with 3.85 million first-week downloads, followed by The Big Bang Theory (the top network show) with 3.2 mil illegal downloads. Rounding out the Top Ten are: How I Met Your Mother, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Homeland, House, Fringe and Revolution, which was the only freshman show to make the list.

AUTHOR OFFERS UNIQUE REWARD FOR RETURN OF DOG

Author Dennis Lehane, whose books Gone Baby Gone, Mystic River and Shutter Island have all been turned into movies, is hoping a good Samaritan will help him find his family’s missing beagle. Lehane took to Facebook earlier this week to ask for help in locating Tessa who jumped a fence at the family’s Brookline, MA home. And he’s offered quite a unique reward to the person who finds and returns the pooch – he’ll name a character in his next book after them.

DEMPSEY TO BUY SEATTLE COFFEE CHAIN

Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey is hoping to save a Seattle-based coffee company (Seattle Grace is the fictional hospital where his character works).  The actor and a group of businessmen are trying to buy Tully’s Coffee, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection two months ago. “I’m excited about the opportunity to save hundreds of jobs, give back to Seattle and become a larger part of the economic growth and fabric of the community,” said Dempsey. “I’ve always loved this city, and with the purchase of Tully’s Coffee, I plan to spend a lot of time in Seattle and at the stores connecting with the community and growing the Tully’s brand.” A judge first needs to okay the purchase. That is expected to happen when the case hits bankruptcy court on January 11^th.
