The news was leaked over a week ago, but People confirmed yesterday that Channing Tatum has been named 2012’s Sexiest Man Alive. “My first thought was, ‘Y’all are messing with me,” said Tatum upon hearing the news. Tatum’s wife Jenna Dewan isn’t that surprised her hubby landed the title, although she says there’s more to him than just his good looks. “People know him to be fun and sexy, but they don’t know how emotionally deep and spiritually open he is,” she said. “He is such an open-hearted person; what you see is what you get.”

Food Network chef Guy Fieri may be a hit on TV, but it sounds like he needs to stay out of the kitchen. The New York Times yesterday posted a scathing, and hysterical, review of Guy’s Times Square restaurant, Guy’s American Kitchen. The review, by critic Pete Wells, was filled with so much contempt, it was actually written as a series of incredulous questions for the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives star. Among the funnier comments: “Hey, did you try that blue drink, the one that glows like nuclear waste? The watermelon margarita? Any idea why it tastes like some combination of radiator fluid and formaldehyde?;” “Why did the toasted marshmallow taste like fish?;” and “When we hear the words Donkey Sauce, which part of the donkey are we supposed to think about?” And it wasn’t just the food that was bad, the service was pretty terrible as well. Elizabeth Banks is a mom again. The Hunger Games star announced Wednesday that she and husband Max Handelman have welcomed a second son via surrogate. “As 2012 winds down and Thanksgiving approaches, I have much for which to be thankful – personal, professional, and Presidential,” Banks wrote on her website. “However, nothing can match the joy and excitement my husband and I felt when we recently welcomed our second baby boy, Magnus Mitchell Handelman.” The couple’s first child, Felix, was born in 2011.

Mariah’s hubby Nick Cannon revealed on Anderson Live earlier this week that he’s the one usually stuck changing their twins’ dirty diapers. “It’s a good time! Right now the kids run the house,” he said. “We are running and chasing after them, and then my wife is being the diva that she is. I am trying to keep up with them.” Then, when Nick was asked who changes the most diapers he replied, “Me,” adding, “I mean we all do it but for some reason I get the duty a little bit more. Justin Bieber was pulled over by LA cops Tuesday night. The “Baby” singer was driving around in a white Ferrari when he was busted at 6:30 pm for making an unsafe left turn. During the stop, officers discovered Justin’s registration had expired and he was given a ticket.

According to Star magazine, Jessica and Ashlee Simpson’s mother is writing a tell-all which will spill the beans about her 34-year-marriage, including reports of Joe’s secret gay life. “Tina was already planning on writing a book before her marriage to Joe crumbled, but that was going to be about her own life as mom to Jessica and Ashlee,” an insider tells Star. “Now that idea has been shelved and Tina is focusing on writing a tell-all about her marriage to Joe.” Although Joe has yet to come out publicly, he’s been linked to a 21-year-old gay aspiring model named Bryce Chandler Hill.

BON JOVI’S DAUGHTER ARRESTED FOR HEROIN POSSESSION
Jon Bon Jovi’s 19-year-old daughter was arrested in upstate New York yesterday morning after allegedly overdosing on heroin. TMZ reports that cops and medical emergency personnel were called to Stephanie Rose Bongiovi’s Hamilton College dorm room after she was found unresponsive. Stephanie was transferred to a hospital, but during a search of her room, cops found a “small quantity” of heroin and marijuana, as well as other drug paraphernalia. She was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and criminally using drug paraphernalia - all misdemeanor charges. A 21-year-old male was also arrested.

œ TV Land has ordered a second season of Cedric the Entertainer’s comedy The Soul Man. The show, a spin-off of Hot in Cleveland, stars Cedric as an R&B superstar-turned-reverend who retires to St. Louis to become a preacher in his father’s church.
œ Grace Gummer, daughter of actress Meryl Streep, has landed a recurring role on HBO’s The Newsroom. She’ll play Hallie Shea, a reporter who is embedded with the Mitt Romney campaign.
œ Tropic Thunder star Brandon T. Jackson has landed the lead role in CBS’s Beverly Hills Cop pilot. Jackson will play Aaron, the son of Axel Foley, played by Eddie Murphy in the hit films. The series is being described as an hour-long crime procedural with comic elements. Murphy is expected to appear in the pilot, and possibly return should the show get picked up.
œ Star Wars’ Billy Dee Williams will guest star on an upcoming episode of Modern Family. He’ll play himself in the episode, in which Ed O’Neill’s character Jay takes his family to Palm Springs to celebrate New Year’s Eve, and meets Williams over a game of cards.
