LINDSAY TO BE CHARGED WITH LYING TO COPS

Lindsay Lohan is in trouble with the law again. TMZ reports the Mean Girls star will be charged with lying to police officers, which is a misdemeanor. The charge stems from Lindsay’s June car accident on the Pacific Coast Highway. Back then, Lindsay told cops she was not behind the wheel of her Porsche when it slammed into an 18-wheeler, but multiple witnesses say she was driving.  The charge could be a problem for Lindsay since she is still on probation for stealing a necklace from an LA store. If her judge considers it a violation, she could be sent to jail.

LIAM CAUGHT FLIRTING WITH ANOTHER WOMAN

Miley Cyrus may want to keep an eye on her man. According to Radaronline, Miley’s fiancé Liam Hemsworth was recently seen getting “very cozy” with a blonde woman at the Samsung Galaxy Note II party in Beverly Hills.  A witness claims Liam spent much of the night talking to the woman. The source says, “It definitely looked like they were behaving in a way that was more than just friendly.”

DIAZ CAUGHT FLIRTING WITH PATTINSON

Kristen Stewart also may want to stay close to her man. According to Us Weekly, Cameron Diaz was caught flirting with Robert Pattinson at the LA County Museum of Art’s Art Gala last month. Apparently, Diaz was unaware that he had reconciled with Stewart. "She was pretty obvious," said a witness. "Cam was seated next to Rob at dinner. She was touching his arm, doing her big Cameron laugh at everything he said and trying really hard. He was polite, but not having it."

HONEY BOO BOO’S CHICKEN NAMED NUGGET

Honey Boo Boo (a.k.a. Alana Thompson) has a new pet chicken, which she has named Nugget.  "Meet Alanas new pet NUGGET," mom June Thompson wrote on Facebook, along with a picture of the bird. "Her and nugget have became very attached this weekend…" June added that Alana won’t let Nugget sleep outside so the chicken, “sleeps inside at night in her inside cage.”

FANNING DEFENDS STEWART

Dakota Fanning defends her good friend and Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart in the new issue of InStyle magazine.  “Everyone thinks they have the right to, you know, publicize the struggles and sadness and heartbreak and all of that,” she said, referring to Kristen’s cheating scandal. “It’s like, ‘Why do you think you are the authority to judge people’s experiences?’”  Fanning has been in the business since she was five, yet somehow has managed to avoid the pitfalls faced by many other child actors. As for why, the 18-year-old says, “Why have I been able to stay sane in a sometimes insane world? The pure love of what I do. Making movies.” [See Spotlight On for more.]

Leonardo DiCaprio doesn’t stay single for long. Just days after the news hit of his breakup with Victoria’s Secret model Erin Heatherton comes word that Leo may be getting cozy with his new co-star.  Leo was in Las Vegas over the weekend, where he was spotted at a party getting close to his Wolf of Wall Street love interest Margot Robbie. “There looks to be some strong chemistry between Leo and his leading lady,” a witness told the New York Post. “They spent a lot of time at the party together.” But another source says the reports are untrue. “They are shooting a movie together and are just friends,” said the insider. “They are definitely not an item.”

ALLEY REVEALS LOVE FOR SWAYZE

Kirstie Alley can’t stop talking about her love life. After telling Barbara Walters last week that John Travolta was “the greatest love of my life,” she has now revealed that she was also once in love with Patrick Swayze. She tells Entertainment Tonight she fell for the late actor during the filming of the 1985 Civil War miniseries North & South. “Both of us were married,” said Alley (referring to her ex Parker Stevenson). “We did not have an affair. But again, I think what I did was worse. Because I think when you fall in love with someone when you’re married, you jeopardize your own marriage and their marriage. It’s doubly bad.” It isn’t known whether Swayze’s wife Lisa knew about their relationship.

FORD MAY PLAY HAN SOLO AGAIN

Harrison Ford may be returning to the Star Wars franchise. Entertainment Weekly quotes a source who claims Ford is interested in once again playing Han Solo in the recently announced new Star Wars film, which is expected to hit theaters in 2015. “Harrison is open to the idea of doing the movie and he’s upbeat about it, all three of them are,” said the source, referring to Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher, who starred in the original three films.

BRIT TO WRITE NOVEL

Britney Spears may soon be adding author to her resume. Brit’s rep has confirmed that the pop star is “having discussions” with It Books, an imprint of Harper Collins, to fictionalize her life for a new novel.  Although this would be Brit’s first work of fiction, in 2000 she wrote a non-fiction book, Heart to Heart, about her rise to fame and her relationship with mother Lynne.

BEER COMPANY WANTS OUT OF FLIGHT

Usually companies love being featured in big budget movies, but Budweiser isn’t very happy about its placement in the new Denzel Washington movie Flight. Denzel plays an alcoholic pilot in the flick, and one scene features him drinking a Bud while driving. Anheuser-Busch (the company that makes Budweiser) is so upset about the scene they’ve asked the logo be removed from future versions of the film (ie, video-on-demand, DVD, etc.).  "We would never condone the misuse of our products, and have a long history of promoting responsible drinking and preventing drunk driving," said Rob McCarthy, a VP at Budweiser.

McCARTHY’S WEIGHT LOSS WISH

Melissa McCarthy is proof you can eat and still have a successful career in Hollywood, but that doesn’t mean she’s never dreamt about being skinny.  “Sometimes I wish I were just magically a size six and I never had to give [my weight] a single thought,” she tells Good Housekeeping.  “But I am weirdly healthy, so I don’t beat myself up about it – it wouldn’t help, and I don’t want to pass that on to my girls.” McCarthy, who’s mom to two girls, Vivian, 5, and Georgette, 2, with husband Ben Falcone, exercises and leads a healthy lifestyle. “I don’t really know why I’m not thinner than I am,” she says. “I don’t really drink soda; I don’t have a sweet tooth, and we eat healthfully at home.” She believes that no matter what size a woman is, there is always something about their appearance they’re unhappy about. Before giving birth to daughter Marlowe in July, actress Sienna Miller posed for a series of naked portraits by artist Jonathan Yeo. The portraits are due to be exhibited at the Circle Culture Gallery in Berlin, Germany later this week.

BROOKE SHIELDS’ MOM DIES

Brooke Shields’ mother Teri died in New York last Wednesday following a long illness related to dementia. She was 79.  Teri managed Brooke’s early career and was criticized for allowing her 10-year-old daughter to pose nude for a photographer. She also got Brooke cast as a child prostitute in the 1978 film Pretty Baby, and was influential in landing Brooke her infamous Calvin Klein jeans campaign, when Brooke was only 15.

NICHOLSON SAYS HE’S NO SEX LEGEND

Jack Nicholson has always had the reputation of being a ladies’ man, with some reports suggesting he’s slept with more than 2,000 women. Well, the 75-year-old tells The Sun that number is a bit of an exaggeration.  "I am an extreme person. If someone says, 'Jack, you are a womanizer,' I don't deny it. But the life of a gigolo always ends badly," he said. "That is one of the reasons I feel uncomfortable about all that 'sex legend' stuff."  Nicholson also opened up about going to therapy.  "I have been in a lot of therapy over the years and have found it has helped,” he said. “The therapist I use in Los Angeles says to me, 'Jack, you are one of the best patients I've ever had.' And I say, 'Why is that, Sidney?' He says. 'You usually know what your problem is, you do what I tell you and that's the end of the therapy.'"

TV TIDBITS

�� CBS is reportedly interested in creating another NCIS spin-off. Characters for the new show will be introduced in an upcoming two-part episode of NCIS: Los Angeles. The program will focus on a mobile team of agents who live and work together as they travel across the country to solve crimes.

�� TV Line reports that Disney is developing a sequel to the 90s ABC comedy Boy Meets World. The show, which will be called Girl Meets World, will follow the life of Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga’s (Danielle Fishel) preteen daughter. Savage and Fishel are expected to reprise their roles in the series, which is in the early stages of development.
