iHeartWomen, Pretty Tough Presents: CT Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz

On Friday, March 8th, iHeartMedia presented an inspirational conversation with fearless women from across Connecticut in honor of International Women's Day. Hosted by iHeartMedia's Renee DiNino and Keynote Speaker, Connecticut Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz, this two-hour special event celebrated the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women and the importance of inclusion. This week, we will be featuring each of the fearless local women who spoke on the panel.

Sworn in on January 9, 2019, Susan Bysiewicz is serving her second term as Connecticut’s 109th Lieutenant Governor. Lt. Governor Bysiewicz formerly served as Connecticut’s Secretary of the State from 1999 to 2011. As a state representative in the Connecticut General Assembly, Lt. Governor Bysiewicz represented the towns of Middletown, Middlefield, and Durham from 1993 to 1999.

Lt. Governor Bysiewicz also serves as chairwoman of the Governor Council on Women and Girls, a group tasked with providing a coordinated state response to issues that impact the lives of women, girls, their families, and the State of Connecticut.

A frequent guest on Community Access, Lt. Governor Bysiewicz graduated from Middletown High School, Yale University and Duke Law School. She is the author of "Ella: A Biography of Ella Grasso."
