About Chef Tyler Anderson:

Chef Tyler Anderson is a nationally renowned Chef. He has been nominated for The Best Chef Northeast award from The James Beard Foundation for the past five years.  A former TOP CHEF CONTESTANT from Season 15 of Bravo’s hit show, he has also appeared on several Food Network shows and been named Chef of the Year by the Connecticut Restaurant Association in 2014.

In 2012, Chef Tyler opened up Millwright’s Restaurant in Simsbury where he serves up seasonally-inspired cuisine. There he and his talented restaurant team received perfect scoring reviews from The New York TimesConnecticut Magazine and Hartford Magazine. At The Cook & The Bear Anderson feeds a regular crowd of devotees, commandeering an entire corner of West Hartford’s Blue Back Square. This following is a direct result of his insistence on sourcing the “just right” ingredients for his innovative, fresh-from-the-farm menus.

Now, in the crux of his career, he has made the choice to establish an operation in the heart of Hartford: Porrón&Piña. The Spanish-inspired, tapas-style restaurant is complete with wine room and ham bar, while the restaurant’s sister bar, Bar Piña harkens back to Hartford’s heyday with it’s colonial, parlor-style and signature crafted cocktails. Donut & coffee shop by day, cocktail bar by night, Bar Piña welcomes every diner and drink enthusiast any time of day.

Restaurant Porrón and Bar Piña can be found at 1 Haynes Street in Hartford, Connecticut. Online it can be found HERE and on instagram through the handle @porronandpina. They are currently accepting reservations via opentable HERE.  To contact the restaurant directly use 860.904.3101 or 860.904.2101.
