Hartford Auto Dealership Hosts Ron Foley Foundation’s Rock Away Fundraiser!

NEW COUNTRY MOTOR CARS DRIVES AWARENESS FOR PANCREATIC CANCER

-Hartford Auto Dealership Hosts Ron Foley Foundation’s Rock Away Fundraising Event on Nov. 10th-

During National Pancreatic Cancer Awareness month in November, New Country Motor Cars of Hartford is once again supporting the Ron Foley Foundation’s mission to find a cure for one of the most deadly cancers. On Friday, November 10th from 6:00-9:00pm at its Mercedes Benz dealership, New Country will host a special fundraising event called Rock Away Pancreatic Cancer.

The event will include light fare and beverages and most exciting, a private concert by musician Rich Ortiz. Ortiz has a loyal following in CT of fans who enjoy his mellow melodies. Inspired by artists such as Jim Croce, James Taylor, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder and Willie Nelson he says, “I feel like I have to change every gig around in order to grow as a musician,” said Ortiz.

The evening has a capacity crowd of about 220 people. The minimum suggested donation is just $50.

Established in memory of Ron Foley who lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in October of 2005, the Foundation bearing his name is dedicated to promoting early detection and ultimately finding a cure through ongoing research. The foundation also provides financial assistance to pancreatic cancer patients in need through the Ron’s Rescue fund.

“New Country is proud to say we have been a longtime supporter of the Ron Foley Foundation,” said Vice President Tim Parker. “We are thrilled to have another opportunity to raise awareness for this great cause and the work it’s doing to help patients and find a cure for pancreatic cancer.”

Additionally, New Country has served as the presenting sponsor of the Ron Foley Foundation’s Annual Ron’s Run for the Roses Kentucky Derby Day gala event for the past five years.

Rock Away Pancreatic Cancer is one of several charity events New Country has hosted at its various dealerships. Four years ago, New Country launched a program of its own to benefit Hartford students in need with the Stuff the MINI to the MAX school supply drive in August and Stuff the MINI winter clothing collection in December.

Other fundraisers and organizations that New Country supports include CRIS Radio (Connecticut Radio Information System), the West Hartford Chamber and Channel 3 Kid's Camp golf tournaments, Make a Wish and the CCMC Ferrari event.

“This is simply who we are as a company,” said Parker. “Beyond providing quality cars for people to drive, we feel it’s more important to be a community leader and look for opportunities to give back.”
